On the evening of January 12, former President of the Republic of Serbia, Boris Tadić, met with Dr. Li Wei, a messenger of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture, in Shanghai. The two sides had in - depth exchanges on the inheritance of TCM culture and the Belt and Road Initiative, injecting new vitality into the friendly cooperation between China and Serbia.
TCM Cultural Exchange: The Transnational Blossoming of Traditional Wisdom
During the meeting, the two sides had a heated discussion on the inheritance of Chinese TCM culture. Former President Tadić highly praised the profoundness and extensiveness of TCM culture and admired the achievements in its inheritance and development. He believed that TCM has broad prospects for promotion in Serbia and expressed his willingness to actively promote exchanges and cooperation in the TCM field between the two countries, so that the Serbian people can experience the charm of TCM.
Belt and Road Cooperation: Fruitful Achievements and Promising Future
When talking about the Belt and Road Initiative, former President Tadić fully affirmed the important role of Shanghai. As one of the first European countries to sign a cooperation document on jointly building the Belt and Road with China, Serbia has achieved remarkable results in cooperation with China in various fields in recent years.
The economic and trade cooperation has been continuously deepened. The scale of trade and investment between the two sides has been steadily increasing, and the free trade agreement will bring new opportunities for cooperation. In terms of infrastructure construction, projects such as the Hungary - Serbia Railway have improved the local transportation conditions. Cultural exchanges have become increasingly close. The China Cultural Center in Belgrade and various "small but beautiful" projects have enhanced the mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Looking ahead, former President Tadić said that Serbia will continue to deeply participate in the Belt and Road construction, strengthen cooperation with China in emerging fields such as the digital economy and green energy, promote the implementation of more people - friendly projects, and create a new situation in the friendly cooperation between Serbia and China.
This meeting has deepened the exchanges between China and Serbia in the field of TCM culture and pointed out a new direction for cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
