From April 1st to 5th, He Zhaohui, Director of the Administrative Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, Director of Yuelu District of Changsha City, led an economic and trade delegation to Germany and the UK for a series of activities including investment promotion, project docking, business negotiations, and overseas sci-tech roadshows, seeking new opportunities for cooperative development and contributing to Hunan's goal of becoming a highland for inland regional reform and opening-up.
During their stay in Germany, the delegation engaged in exchanges with representatives from the Berlin Workstation of Changsha National Overseas Talent Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base and Stuttgart Entrepreneurs Association, held Dortmund enterprise exchange seminars and a special promotion event for "Invest in China" in Hannover. Everywhere they went, He Zhaohui comprehensively introduced the industrial development, business environment, and international cooperation of the new area. He emphasized that Xiangjiang New Area has close ties with Germany in economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, especially in advanced manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy sectors, attracting companies like BASF and Schaeffler. Meanwhile, enterprises such as Zoomlion have also invested and established factories in Germany. Currently, Xiangjiang New Area is accelerating the construction of a new pattern of openness and is fully committed to building a German SME headquarters cluster.
In the UK, the delegation visited Oxford University and Cambridge University Science Park, inspected the Cambridge Life Science Innovation Center, hosted events including "Oxford-Hunan Xiangjlang New Area lnvestment Promotion Conference ＆Xiangjiang Science City's Overseas Technology Innovation Projects Roadshow", and exchanged views with British academicians, experts, sci-tech project leaders, and overseas Chinese talents on potential collaborations. Discussions were also held regarding the establishment of an "Oxford International Biomedicine Empowerment Center" in Changsha's Overseas Returnees Entrepreneurship Park. He Zhaohui expressed that Xiangjiang New Area is dedicated to creating a sci-tech innovation highland with core competitiveness, accelerating the construction of Xiangjiang Science City, and promoting the establishment of the China (Changsha) Sino-European International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, looking forward to deepening cooperation with renowned universities like Oxford and Cambridge as well as British enterprises in technology transfer and talent cultivation.
During this visit, the delegation also participated in the Hunan-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Symposium, visited notable enterprises including Joboern, BASF, Bosch, and toured the Hannover Messe 2025. |
