Sang Qingde, male, was born in Shouguang City, Shandong Province in 1953. He has a junior high school education and has been engaged in farming since childhood. He joined the army in December 1970, demobilized in 1973 and then went back home to farm. In 1979, he started running an individual business, namely Shouguang Chang'an Vegetable Company, and has served as its chairman ever since. He began to practice calligraphy in 2003, mainly focusing on large-character calligraphy and the calligraphy style of Mao Zedong.
He is currently a member and director of the Folk Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, and won the third prize in the 8th National Painting and Calligraphy Competition. Meanwhile, he also serves as the chairman of Shouguang Chang'an Folk Village, a member of Weifang Calligraphy Association and Shouguang Calligraphy Association, and the vice president of Shouguang Elderly Calligraphy Association.
Mr. Sang Qingde's calligraphy works are characterized by vigorous and powerful strokes, magnificent momentum, a combination of firmness and softness, and a sense of strength. From the structure and composition to the rhythm and momentum, whether it's large characters or small ones, they all fully display an elegant, solemn, vigorous, and smooth style without any sense of restraint. His calligraphy works are like flowing clouds and flowing water, completed in one go, and are deeply loved by painting and calligraphy collectors. In recent years, the market value of his works has been constantly rising.
